Johnson Screens® nozzles are ideally suited for vessel media retention applications requiring specified flow and backwash rates. Our application engineers recommend optimal nozzle quantities to achieve efficient fluid collection and distribution.
Downflow reactors impose heavy loads on retention screens at vessel bottoms. Load reduction is required under certain working conditions. Dedicated configurations are essential for fluid passage through panels, which can be achieved efficiently by evenly mounting multiple nozzles.
Featuring high structural strength, large open area and anti-clogging slot design, Johnson Screens nozzles deliver reliable performance. The standard nozzle diameter is 2 inches / 51 mm, fastened to panels via threaded fittings or L-bolts. Slot openings range from 0.006 inch / 0.15 mm to 0.020 inch / 0.50 mm. The exclusive anti-clogging Vee-Wire® structure allows particles to touch only two wire edges.
Particles tend to get trapped inside conventional mesh structures, causing clogging and frequent maintenance issues. Our nozzles are commonly made of 316L stainless steel. Special spherical nozzles made of ABS or Kynar® plastic are also available. Custom nozzles can be engineered to meet unique process and installation requirements.
