Johnson Screens focuses on technological innovation to satisfy various industrial screening requirements.
We customize grids adaptable to diverse vessel configurations, catering to discharge and feed pipes, thermowells, thermocouples and other special specifications. Support grids are manufactured in segmented forms including arch and chord plates according to vessel sizes. Manholes can be incorporated for easy maintenance. Diversified designs accommodate different loads, temperatures and structural demands.
When stagnant catalyst accumulates on grids and brings heavy loads, the Stacked Beam Structure (SBS) is recommended. Large square steel beams are welded to support ribs under the screen for enhanced structural rigidity.
The Single Rib (SR) structure applies to light load scenarios. Flange-connected grids feature long spans with only one supporting unit required at minimum.
Grid design is relatively challenging for dehydration systems with cyclic pressure and temperature changes. We cooperate with clients to calculate and confirm proper sizes of shell support rings, grid materials and sealing solutions, preventing operational faults.

Manholes, lifting lugs, thermowells and catalyst transfer pipes can be fitted on Johnson support grids.
In horizontal vessels, screens are generally arranged along the centerline and span the full bed length. Depending on vessel dimensions, the screen can extend the entire length or be supported by one or multiple support beams. Circular screen frames for vertical vessels adopt flanged steel for easy installation.
For retrofitting fixed bed systems, damaged screens can be removed while intact ones remain in place. New screens are reinstalled onto support grid plates conveniently, ensuring long-term stable system operation.
