Johnson Screens Support Grid

Johnson Screens designs and manufactures a full range of grids for media retention. Among our innovative products, flat screens are commonly applied in downflow and upflow systems to retain costly media and provide fluid collection coverage across the full diameter and length of vessels. Boasting superior strength, durability and flow performance, our support grid systems are widely used in hydroprocessing reactors, desulfurization reactors, molecular sieves, gas desulfurization reactors and other absorption facilities.

Our grids bring multiple advantages for demanding media retention applications:

High Strength:

Specially welded from Vee-Wire and support rods, the grids resist collapse and deformation even under harsh working conditions such as hydrocracking and desulfurization reactors, where bearing pressure reaches 350 kPa and above.

Precise Media Retention:

The minimum slot opening is 0.002 inch / 0.05 millimeter, which stably traps fine catalyst particles, resin and molecular sieve materials. It features larger total open area than conventional wire mesh structures despite narrow slot gaps.

Stable Surface Performance

Unlike ordinary wire mesh, Johnson Screens support grids can hold media directly without intermediate inert ball layers. The smooth surface effectively lowers abrasion loss. Supporting beams, catalyst transfer pipes, maintenance manholes, sealing cords, bolts and all matching accessories are also available.
