Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) technology is widely applied in evaporators. It serves as an efficient solution to supply thermal energy for intermediate materials. Steam is generally compressed by motor-driven compressors to heat the evaporator column. Thanks to its low energy consumption, the MVR process stands out as the most cost-effective evaporation technology.
In the past, sophisticated turbo compressors or positive displacement blowers with speeds exceeding 12,000 rpm were commonly adopted in such processes.
Since the 1980s, PILLER has been delivering high-performance blower solutions for these applications. Today, PILLER has established itself as a technological and market leader in the field of vapor compression with single-stage and multi-stage high-efficiency blowers.

Efficient, flexible and reliable equipment for processing industries

PILLER blowers achieve an efficiency rate of up to 86%. Compared with conventional steam compressors, they feature higher flexibility and reliability, lower maintenance requirements, less susceptibility to suboptimal process conditions and greater sturdiness.

The optimized blower housing is moisture-proof and resistant to contaminated vapor, requiring minimal complicated maintenance. Despite their compact structure, PILLER MVR blowers deliver powerful performance. They can operate with shaft power up to 5 megawatts and an impeller speed of 400 meters per second. Subject to specific installation modes, vapor can be compressed to a maximum pressure of 20 bar.

One major achievement is our patented squeeze film damped bearings, which combine the simplicity of anti-friction bearings with the performance and reliability of hydrodynamic bearings. They provide sufficient damping beyond critical speeds and reduce bearing stiffness, bringing the critical speed well below the normal operating range of blowers.

In recent years, the performance range of our blowers has been greatly expanded. We have launched the VapoFan product line for low-flow working conditions and upgraded existing products to achieve a temperature rise of up to 23K.
